The staff were all super friendly and helpful! <3 Ryogoku is a fantastic district, it is clean, historically and culturally rich, but also modern enough to cater for all your needs. Beautiful parks, interesting sites, and amazing food choices all around, from the little food bars by the tracks, to the tourist info centre between the station and the Kokugikan, and the independent restaurants dotted around the place. We loved every minute spent in Ryogoku. A short 5-6 minutes walk away from the station. Most (if not all?) rooms are overlooking the river, and on good days the rooftop bar is a great spot to eat your takeout dinner and have a few drinks with your family/group/friends. There are at least 5 convenience stores (both chains and independent) all around, within 2-5 minutes walk of the hotel. Free to use washing machine/dryer on 4th floor with English instructions. I would say the downside is that there is only one machine for the whole hotel, but we managed to use it twice in 10 days without having to wait for anyone, so I cannot call it an inconvenience. There is a little magnetic whiteboard to write your room number and finish time on so others know when to come back if they want to get on the next round. A very elegant and friendly solution. Kitchenette in the room was perfect for longer stay, we cooked breakfast every morning before heading out to ensure our fussy kids got at least one full meal in at the start of the day. Likewise you can knock up a quick dinner or warm up your takeout any time. Small fridge enough for a family of four for a week, it was even too big for what we needed. Separate toilet and bathroom so the family can coexist easily. Very good shower pressure, great quality water (your skin and hair will know the difference).

The staff at this hotel were absolutely wonderful to deal with for every interaction. We also really enjoyed the breakfast option. As this is a smaller hotel, there isn't a ton of options, but they make it work out nicely and feels sufficient to start your day. It's not a breakfast buffet :D As of July 2024, the two breakfast options were either a nicely prepared sandwich (meat, cheese, lettuce, etc.) on a French roll of sorts accompanied by grapes and a drink (either juice or coffee (an Americano) or a yogurt/granola bowl with fruit/nuts, etc. also with the drink option. You have to let them know the day before what breakfast option you would like for them to prepare for you so that it is ready the next morning. In addition, we really liked the view from our room (river view) which was scenic to come home to after a long day out exploring Tokyo. I'll also note that the general location of the hotel is super convenient to the nearby train station which also worked out well for our family. We would definitely choose to stay here again. Thank you so much for making our first time in Japan a pleasant one!

We stayed here twice over a 3 week visit to Japan. First for a week over Christmas and then at the end of the trip for 2 nights. Both times we had the suite rooms as there were 3 of us. It was spacious and comfortable with a gorgeous view of the river and city. In fact, we had booked another hotel for the second stay but after staying the first time I cancelled the other hotel and rebooked at FAV - we loved it so much. The staff and very kind and friendly, the rooms are clean and new. We made frequent use of the free laundry facilities and the cafe downstairs had good coffee and tasty breakfast rolls (the donuts were good too!) The location is great, quieter than near Tokyo station but an easy train ride to get there. This neighbourhood allowed us to feel more of a local vibe than an tourist vibe so whilst that is not for everyone, it suited us perfectly and we will definitely stay here again.

We loved the slightly quieter location of the hotel. While not in one of the more busy areas like Shinjuku or Shibuya, it was a short walk to the train and super easy to get to those areas. We could enjoy their energy and then head back to our little oasis. The apartment was spacious by Tokyo standards, very modern and very well equipped. We loved the clever use of what, as westerners, we consider compact spaces. Staff were wonderful and went above and beyond to help us. Please note no luggage storage available at this hotel. Not an issue for us, but may be for others.

Lovely compact place to stay in a more quiet area of Tokyo but still close to the action. Easy access to transportation and restaurants, and a relaxing walk along the river and to beautiful Japanese gardens. Excellent views from the room, and a fantastic little place down stairs that also does muesli and sandwiches for breakfast as well as great coffee. Very kind, helpful and enthusiastic staff.
